One of the most important functions of VMA is to select candidates that
support the mission and guiding principle of the organization to run for
Village Board and Village Clerk offices. The selection process occurs in
the late summer and early fall prior to a Village election. Membership in
the selection committee is open to all VMA members and it is easy to

While the selection committee selects candidates to endorse, the standing
Recruitment committee helps us seek candidates to run for Village
President, Trustees and Clerk.

The VMA Board of Directors is charged with speaking out on issues of local
concern within the Village. This is done through careful study of issues
and their public policy implications. This work can only be done through the
work of dedicated volunteers willing to explore the impact of public policy

Membership is the life blood of any organization. The Membership committee
of the VMA actively works to build interest in the Association by reaching
out to villager residents through special events and small group meetings.
The Committee also helps plan meetings of the Association including its fall

Communicating with our members as well as with the broader community is
vitally important for the VMA. Our Communications strategy has been developed
to support our mission through appropriate and diverse tools including our
web site, newsletters, news releases, brochures and public statements. The
Committee is charged with activating our strategy and assisting with the
development of our tools and messages.

As an organization, the VMA raises money through our annual membership dues
of $20 per year and through your generous donations. These funds are used in
various ways to support our organization including publicity expenses,
education forums and public policy discussions. If you are interested in

Keeping track of our members is vitally important to our success. Our
Technology Committee works to maintain our membership and donor data bases.
In addition, they explore new ways to keep us up to date on the latest
